The girl with the pearl earring screen shot

I Like this screen shot because it uses a long shot to set the scene. The shot shows a old victorian, bleak room surrounded by darkness, this highlights the film as a dark and depressive atmosphere. The font is white, which contrast with the black background. The font is in fading white which is also a bleak color, this keeps all the colors dark and faded. The font is also in an old victorian style which sets the film time.

I like this image because it shows a close up of what she is doing, which in this case is cutting vegetables. I like it because it  is making a point that she is cutting vegetables, she is also using quite a blunt knife which could show she is a poor worker.
I like this image because it again shows a fading white font which contrasts with the black background. it also shows a long shot which sets the scene and shows the type of conditions she is working in, which are awful.
I like this image because it shows a  low angle shot of the working girl, this shows how she is obviously an important character in the film although she is dressed poorly and is cutting vegetables with a blunt knife.
I like this image because it shows all the pictures that showed her cutting vegetables all linking in to this picture, which shows a massive table decorated by vegetable. It shows she is probably a servant to someone and is cooking food for someone else.
I like this picture because it shows a close up of her face which shows expression, she seems to be suprised by something or she may be scared, this is all shown in the close up which is used to great affect in this scene.
